February Challenge

Well I managed to get my page done last night so I could take it to work today. I've been meaning to scrap this photo for a while now. It is from a charity event we attended almost 2 years ago now.

I was planning on doing something very different for this challenge but, maybe I'll save that idea for next month. It was a black and white ball we attended, hence the black and white theme.

The card stock is bazzill and the patterned paper is from Imaginesce (daisy downpour, black tie optional). The black swirls were cut out on my cricut with Ashlyn's Alphabet Cartridge. I colored the small chipboard frame black, the love charm is from Making Memories and I used a couple of antique rose bling and a pink floral pin to finish off my 3d element. I think I covered all the requirements for this challenge. I'm feeling inspired now, I think I'll have to go through my pictures and get more printed up so I can make some more pages in March. Maybe I'll manage to get a page a week done instead of just one a month :)

March Class Schedule

I'm a little bit behind getting this info up but, here is the schedule for my March classes at Scrap Arts

Pocketful of Memories
Sunday March 7th
1:00pm - 3:00pm
Thursday March 18th
7:00pm - 8:30pm

Birthday Greetings
Sunday March 21st
12:00pm - 2:00pm

I hope to have some new classes designed for April. We've been so caught up in the Olympic spirit here in BC I haven't been doing much for crafts lately.

I am planning to go do a scrapbook page in a few minutes. That's if I can find a picture to scrap.
I'm trying to decide what to do for the February Scrap Arts challenge. The challenge is as follows.

Love Theme.....can be anything you love
for example your child, your parents, your husband, chocolate, puppies etc....the possibilities are endless
1 photo
3d element
Bling
1 pin decoration
Red, black, pink or white, color theme
2 patterned papers

What to do? I keep going through my pics but I just can't decide. What I really need is a giant picture of chocolates :)

Well, the page is due by tomorrow so I have to think fast LOL. I'll let you know what I come up with in my next post. I hate these one picture challenges. I think I'm going to have to take over making up the challenges. I will make sure to say use 2-4 photos on all them :)

Olympic Fever!

As you can imagine the last week in Vancouver has been all about the Olympics. I have been so busy watching the games that I haven’t spent much time in my craft room.

I did make a few cards for Valentine’s Day. Most of them have been on the blog already. Here is another I made using the new Webster’s pages we got in at Scrap Arts a couple of weeks ago. Same idea as the last one the hot air balloon was cut out of another sheet of Webster’s paper, I then used Versa mark ink and clear embossing powder on it. I used a swirl stamp to add some more detail to the corners. The Love & Forever stamps are from Crafty Secrets Cherish set.

New Look for Spring

It is about time to start the spring cleaning. I decided to start with my blog, much easier then the house LOL. I love love love green as you can probably tell. I have been working on my craft room again. I've rearranged it several times over the last year. I think I finally have it designed in a way that I can live with for awhile. Of course Kit always has to help with this process. I made the mistake of taking her chair to use at my desk. Needless to say she would not leave me alone while I was in it, and if I got up for a minute she would curl up in it. Now that I've given her chair back to her I manage to get a little more done. Here are a couple of pics of her snooping while I was cleaning up.

Too much new stuff

I'm not complaining or anything but, working at a Scrapbook store when new products come in is dangerous. I'm like a kid in a candy store and I want a little of everything. We got so much new stuff in at Scrap Arts last week. Tons of new papers, bling, embellishments, punches, smooch, and more. I couldn't help myself; I had to buy a little bit of everything LOL. My favorite though is the new paper line Postcards from Paris from Webster's Pages.

I had to make a card out of this and I'm hoping to make a scrapbook page as soon as I get some pics printed. The name of the patterned paper I used for this card is Paris Couture and the card stock colors are Bitter Chocolate and Dawn. The butterflies are repeated in the paper so I was able to cut them out and pop them up with foam dots. I did use versamark ink and clear embossing powder to make them a little stronger. I used the same technique on the popped up flowers as well. The sentiment stamps are from the Clear Arts Stamps "Cherish" set.

Did I mention we got new bling...lots and lots of new bling LOL. I had to buy a bunch of that as well. The ones I used on this card are from Kaiser Craft and the color is Antique Rose.

More Bombshell Cards

I just love these Bombshell stamps. I have been having so much fun making cards with them. Here are a couple of cards I made this week. Of course with these great new stamps I had to go and buy some new Prisma Color markers LOL. The patterned paper for the first card is from Creative Imaginations. The rhinestones on the charm were clear so I colored them with a prisma marker, so they would match the card.

The patterned paper for the second card is from K & Company "BW Madeline Painted Roses". The xoxo stamp is from Autumn Leaves "Love with a Flourish" stamp set. I forgot to write down what prisma markers I used. I will try and figure it out later and post the colors I used. Next time I'll try to remember to write them down as I go :)

January Challenge

Can you believe it's the end of January? I really wanted to do a bunch of page challenges this month. But...I only managed to get the one for Scrap Arts done. The challenge was 1 photo, spring theme, brad or eyelet (not both), chipboard & paint.

I don't like using paint for scrapbooking. I have tons of paint for other crafts but not a fan of using it for scrapbooking. It's too messy & I usually end up with paint everywhere. Also Kit is always trying to stick her nose in the paint.

The flower picture I took last spring. I really love the picture but I must have spent 2 hours trying to decide on paper and colors. I'm happy with most of it but I would undo the stamping if I could LOL. I have a real problem leaving blank spots on my pages. The chipboard oval was painted and I stamped the word beautiful on it. I really love this picture and I think the purple & green paper make it pop. Amazingly this was my first attempt at paper piercing on a page. I messed up a few times on other pieces of paper. The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Eva line.

I will attempt to get more pages done in February, I may even go to a crop or two.

Happy Crafting everyone!
