Birthday Book

I decided to put my Zutter to use a couple of weeks ago, and this is what I came up with.  It is a small birthday book.  Each page inside has a calender and a pocket to store a card in.  However, you could use it to keep coupons or tickets or whatever.  There is a page for each month of the year and a place to write important dates, birthdays, anniversaries etc.
The front and back cover are chipboard covered with patterned paper.  I love this paper from Prima, it is from the Watercolor Rainbow Collection and called Tropical Lagoon.  The waterlily stamp is from the stamp set Waterlily by Flourishes.  I colored it with watercolor pencils and the lily pads are painted in with dye ink and an aqua brush.  Inside I used a variety of stamp sets.
Also, Kit is really enjoying the new desk in my studio.  She doesn't look like it in this photo but she really likes all the extra roaming space.

Well back to my studio to see what else I can come up with for classes.  Happy Crafting!

Tim Holtz Alterations!!!

I love, love, love the alterations die cuts by Tim Holtz.  Here is my first project with the Hardware Findings die cut I bought at Scrap Arts the other day.  I had so much fun doing this card.  I cut the pieces out of chipboard and card stock and layered them together.  I used Java walnut stain, copper pigment ink and brown dye ink on the hardware pieces.  For the background paper I stamped the verse stamp (Art Life & Beauty by Hero Arts) on French Vanilla card stock and the distressed with Tim Holtz distress inks scattered straw, vintage photo and walnut stain.

Update on Father's Day card
I did not get a chance to finish this post yesterday so here are the details for the card I posted.  The background stamp for this card is a map stamp by All Night Media.  The ship and the greeting are from the stamp set A Guiding Light by Flourishes.  The ship was colored with prisma markers and the map was distress with Jumbo Java versa magic and brown momento ink.

Well time to go make some more cards.  Thanks for visiting my blog.

Flowers!!!

I love taking pictures especially of flowers.  Here are a few from the last couple of weeks.  The first two are the same rose,  the first one was on a rainy day and the second one is the same rose 2 days later in the sunshine. The third picture is of poppies in the rain.  Yes it rains a lot here on the west coast LOL.  For the first picture I made the background black and white so the colors of the rose stood out more.
Thanks for visiting my blog!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

New Season New Look!!

I decided to revamp my blog for summer.  I'm not sure about the design but it will do for now.  I may get bored and change it again soon.  My Internet was not working for about a week or so, it is amazing what you can get accomplished if you turn off your computer LOL.  Anyway my husband and I made a trip to Ikea to get a new table top for my craft room and found one I really liked it was about 7 feet long or so and about $70.00.  We went to pick it up and thought hey this will never fit in the car and delivery would make it too expensive.  So we went into the as is department and found 2 table tops that were just over 4 feet long and 23" wide and I thought perfect and even more perfect is that they were only $6.00 each. I have units that i could put them on to make desks.  The only problem the units were not deep enough so I used some storage boxes behind them to make it fit.  It worked perfectly. The first picture is my desk and workspace before.
The picture below is my new desk and workspace!!!
So much better.  The room is only about half done there is still lots more to do.

I will post more pictures once I finish the room.
Whenever that happens to be LOL!

Class Information

These are the other items that will be taught in the "You're the Man" class.  The first is a card that measures 5"x5" and the patterned paper is from the Rusted Sun collection by Fancy Pants.  The stamps are from the Car Classics stamp set by Crafty Secrets.  Again I used water color pencils to color the image because I wanted a vintage look.
Class Dates are
Sunday June 6th 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Sunday June 13th 1:00pm - 3:00pm

The next item for the class is a simple gift card holder.  I didn't color the images in for the sample but students will be able to color it however they like.

Here is the last item for my "Dream On" class.  It can be used as a gift tag or a bookmark. The other items in this class are the 2 cards posted on May27th and the Basket I posted on May 11th. The dates for this class in June are
Sunday June 20th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Sunday June 27th 1:00pm - 3:00pm

These classes will be offered again in July.  I will have some new classes for July as well.  I will post them as soon as I have them ready.  I guess I better go work on that now.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.
