Favorites!!!

So what are your favorites?   When it comes to my craft supplies I have way too many.  So when I found the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog it was a little hard to decide.  I finally went with my favorite Christmas stamp...I bought this one about 4 years ago and I use it every year for several different cards.
The stamp is called Santa Collage by Rubber Stampede.  I also love the embossing folder I used for this card - "Splendid" M-Bossabilities by Spellbinders.  Copics (E00, 01, 02 & N1) are another one of my favorites.  For this card I stamped Santa and colored him with the above copics and then used a glue pen and glitter on his beard, hat and snowflakes (they don't really show up in the picture) and I used a clear glaze pen on his glasses.  I edged the papers with brilliance gold and memento rhubarb stalk ink.  The greeting is from stampin up and I colored some tiny pearls with copic marker Y38 and stuck them in the middle of a few of the flowers ( I think they look like little poinsettias).

Well that's it for tonight.  I should have a couple more cards to post before Christmas.  I actually have most of my shopping done now and only have a few last minute things to pick up.  We actually started shopping late but managed to finish most of it up ahead of schedule.  Have a wonderful day everyone and thanks for stopping by

Eira!

I got to spend a lot of time working in my studio this last week (more about that in my next post).  I wanted to make a few more cards with my C.C. Designs stamps I bought a few months ago (they are just too cute). So I popped over to the All That Scraps Challenge blog to see what their challenge was this week.  I was quite happy to see that the challenge for this week is clean & simple.  I tried to keep this one as simple as possible but I did use lots of glitter.

I used the Eira stamp (love this one) and colored her with copic markers (BG10, 11, 15, 13 - E000, 00, 01, 21, 23, 25, 27 - R20 & memento marker - lady bug).  I used a glitter pen on her belt and a glue pen and glitter on parts of her dress.  I put some sookwang tape on white cardstock and cut it out with the MFT let it snowflake die and then covered them with transparent micro fine warm highlight glitter.  I layered them with some snowflakes I cut out of the same patterned paper I used for the background (Bo Bunny Snowfall) and finished them off with a couple of rhinestones.  I used a spellbinders petite oval die to cut her out (using the out of the box technique) and a petite scalloped oval for a mat.

I have some more cards to share over the next few days.  I will post them as soon as possible.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week everyone!

Blooming Poinsettia!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful December so far! I finally got a little bit of shopping done but I still have a lot to do.  So this is going to be a quick post tonight.  The picture of this card is a little wonky but I think you will be able to get the idea.

I embossed the gold metallic paper with the spellbinders "splendid" m-bossabilities folder.  I used the "blooming poinsettia" die from poppy stamps to make the poinsettia.  I added a little red flower to the middle under the gold berries.  The ovals were cut out using spellbinders petite ovals large and small.  The greeting stamp is from the inkadinkado stamp set "village lifestyle" set and I used memento "rhubarb stalk".  I edged most of the pieces with brilliance galaxy gold and aged mahogany distress ink.  The rhinestones were colored with copic marker R89.

I hope to be back tomorrow night with another post.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend everyone.

All Spruced Up!

At least my place is getting that way.  I got a small tree this year (artificial) and decided to put it up...and so far Kit is ignoring it (hooray) and I did manage to get some other decorations up as well.  I have also been on a mission to reorganize my craft studio.  It becomes an absolute disaster area when I get in there and work.  I also have trouble finding things and keep forgetting to use certain embellishments because they are hidden and I don't think of them.

I did do a little bit of crafting this week and I decided to make a card for the Simon Says Challenge.  This one was easy as it is a "anything goes" challenge.  Here is the card I made with one of the new Christmas stamps I got a few weeks ago.  The stamp is called "Getting Spruced Up" from High Hopes stamps, I just love this guy.  I colored it with copic markers (G40, 82, 85 - YR04, 07 - R22, 24, 27 29 - E23, 25, 27 - N3, 5, 7 - Y35, 38 & BG10) and embellished it with clear glaze pen, clear stardust pen and diamond stickles.  The greeting is from a Kaiser craft stamp set and I used lady bug memento ink.  The patterned paper is from the Bo Bunny "Mistletoe" collection.
Well that's it for tonight.  I can't believe we are already into December and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping.  I guess I better get busy and get to work!  I hope to be able to keep posting at least a couple of times a week but it might not be possible.  Take care and have a great weekend everyone.

Lace Tree

Ok so this is a card I've made before and I like it because it is very clean and simple.  No greeting so it can be used for whatever you want during the holidays.  I like making this one because it is something I can do while watching TV LOL!

I embossed the tree using the cuttlebug lace tree folder and then colored it with sakura clear stardust pen and  then I accent it with whatever color stardust pen I want to match the paper I plan on using as a mat.  For the first one I used sky star pen and the second one I used red star pen.  I then colored a rhinestone to match with a copic marker (R89, BG75) and popped it in the middle for a little more sparkle.  It is really hard to tell what it looks like in the pictures.  I tried to get a close up of the shine, it kind of worked LOL!

Well I finally get a chance to spend a couple of hours in my studio today so I'm off to do a couple of challenges.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Blue Christmas...

...card! It has been a long day but I do have a wee bit of time to update my blog now.  I love my new MFT "let it snowflake" die set and decided to use some more snowflakes on this card.  They make great embellishments for Christmas cards.

For this card I cut the ovals out with spellbinders petite large and small ovals.  I stamped the Merry Christmas greeting (Kaiser Craft - Turtle Dove stamp set) with memento "teal zeal" ink and colored it with memento markers rhubarb stalk and cottage ivy.  I also added some sakura clear stardust pen for a little sparkle.  I used white perfect pearls and diamond stickles on the snowflakes and then inked some of them with the teal zeal ink.  The paper is an old paper called starry starry night by GCD studios (2008).  I'm really trying to use up some of my older papers.
Well that's it for tonight, thanks for stopping by.  I may be back tomorrow with another post.  I think I may even have a chance to spend a few hours in my studio tomorrow.

Crazy Couple of Weeks!!!

I have been so busy the last couple of weeks that I haven't had a chance to post!!! I have been busy making cards though!  I got about 30 cards made since my last post and here is a picture of the result.
So over the next couple of weeks I will slowly post some of these with information about them.  Some of the cards are duplicates of older cards I made so I won't bother with those.  I will also try to do some more challenges each week and post those as well.  Of course I will be making lots more Christmas too!.

For today I am going to post a couple of cards I made with the new High Hopes Christmas Joy Snowy stamp.  I used the same layout and paper for each but one I colored with water color pencils and the other I colored with copic markers.  The patterned paper is an old one from Kaiser Kraft and I cut the snowflakes out with MFT Let it Snowflake die set and I colored the rhinestones with copic marker R89.   I stamped the image for the water color image with archival ink and used derwent water color pencils (crimson lake, turquoise green, silver grey, naples yellow, olive green & orange chrome).  I blended them all out with an aqua brush and went over the berries with sakura red star and clear glaze pens.  I also used some Christmas red stickles on his jacket (looks a little weird in the picture but looks nice in person).  I used spellbinders petite ovals large and small to cut out the image and the mats.
For this image I used copic markers (R24, 27, 29 - N0, 1, 3, 5 - YG91, 93, 95 -BG10, YR07 & Y35) and I used sakura red star pen on his jacket and berries and a clear star dust pen on his star buttons (shows up funny in picture). The stardust pens look really nice in person but weird in pictures, I use them quite a bit to embellish images.
Well that's it for tonight I have another busy day tomorrow. I plan on posting another card tomorrow night, I hope I have time :).  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

One Last Halloween Card!

I have one last Halloween card to post that I made last week.  I was going to post it on Halloween but my computer was down for a couple of days, so I didn't get the chance.  This one is way out of my comfort zone for mixing different patterned paper lines and embellishments but I think it turned out OK.

I used a variety of papers and stamps for this.  The dot patterned paper is from Bo Bunny.  The candy corn paper is from an old K & Company patterned paper pack and the white & orange paper is from the pink paislee "phantom" pack.  The Trick or Treat sticker border is from the Martha Stewart Halloween adhesive borders pad.  I stamped the monsters (hero arts - monster fun set) with back memento ink and colored them with copics and used some clear glaze pen on their eyes and teeth.  I stamped the Happy Halloween (inkadinkado - scary words) and Little Monsters (crafty secrets - Halloween fun) with black archival ink and edged the paper with versa magic midnight black ink.  Since I didn't put anything on with 3d dots, it seemed to need a little dimension, so I added a few buttons.

That's the last of the Halloween cards.  I really had planned to make so many more.  I bought a bunch of new stamps and papers.  I just didn't have the time last month.  Oh well! I have a great stash of stuff for next year.  I spent a few hours in my studio the other night packing away all the Halloween stuff and getting all my Christmas stuff out.  I am now ready to spend the next few weeks getting lots of Christmas cards ready.  I should have something more to post in the next couple of days.

Thanks for visiting my blog and have a great week everyone.

Follow The Yellow Brick Road!

I can't believe it is already November...I haven't even begun to do any Christmas shopping (lots to be done soon so I can get it in the mail).  I guess I better get that started and get busy making some Christmas cards. I got my computer back up and running last night but I was too busy to update my blog.  I did spend a few hours in my studio working on some cards.  I really wanted to do the Kraftin Kimmie challenge this week.  The theme this week is All About Music...I decided to go with the music from a fabulous movie "The Wizard of Oz".

Here is the card I made using Dorothy and the greeting is from the Tinman.  I colored Dorothy with copics (will post color list later) I used sakura stardust pens sky star on her bows and red star on her shoes (they really look like shiny ruby slippers in person).  The patterned paper is all from the Bo Bunny Country Garden  line.  Since the theme was music I also stamped some random music notes in coordinating colors all over the background.

I do have one last Halloween card to post and I will try to do that today or tomorrow.  Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Happy Halloween

I hope everyone is having a very happy Halloween / Samhain (whichever you celebrate). We usually dress up and go out for a bit and visit the local gardens they decorate for Halloween.  This year the weather is just to terrible to go out though.  It is raining buckets out there.  So instead we are staying in and eating homemade chicken noodle soup I made this afternoon.  I think this is a good compromise.

I know I said I had one more project to post for Halloween but sadly my computer died today and all my pics are on my computer.  So I won't be able to post anything until I get my computer up and running.  My DH is going to take it to the shop tomorrow.  I think I will have to send some back up files to his computer just in case it happens again.

Here is a picture from a couple of years ago.  I posted it before but I just have to have a picture to post for Halloween.

Have a wonderful and safe Halloween everyone!! I'll post the other Halloween card as soon as my computer is up and running.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Autumn Leaves!

Well I found another challenge I wanted to do over at the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog.  I love Autumn, as I've mentioned many times and I especially love the colors.  This challenge was for "Autumn Leaves" so you could use Autumn Leaves product or just go with the Autumn Leaves theme.  Since I love the colors so much I decided to go with that.

I made a card similar to this last year but I decided to change it up a bit.  I cut the leaves out on the cricut using "A Child's Year" cartridge.  I inked them up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink (wild honey, rusty hinge & barn door).  I embossed the background piece with the craft concepts "Venus" embossing folder and edged it with the rusty hinge and barn door ink.  I wanted to give the leaves a little more dimension so I crinkled them up a bit.  The greeting is from the Bo Bunny "apple cider" stamp set and I used memento Morocco ink.
I'll be back with another post for Halloween later on today.  Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy & Safe Halloween everyone!

Mumford the Mummy!

OK, October did not turn out to be as productive as I thought it would be...at least where crafting is concerned.  I did not get to spend nearly as much time in my craft room as I thought and therefore did not get to post as much as I wanted.  That seriously needs to change over the next two weeks as I have a craft show to prepare for. I really need to spend every evening in my studio getting as many cards ready as possible.

I thought I'd check out some more challenges this week as well and when I found the one for All That Scraps I decided to try it.  I ordered a bunch of stuff from them a couple of months ago and this cute Halloween stamp Mumford the Mummy was one of them. I just had to have this Mummy stamp it is just too cute.  Anyway, the challenge this week is anything goes and here is the card I came up with yesterday.

I colored the image with copics (N0, 1, 3 - E0000, 000, 00 - R02 - BG75 & 93).  The patterned paper is all from the Authentique "Enchanted" Collection .  I added a few details to the distressed paper behind Mumford using stamps from Basic Grey and the greeting is from the Halloween Fun set by Crafty Secrets.  I die cut the fence using the Tim Holtz "on the fence" die.  I inked all the patterned paper edges with black versa magic ink and added a few pewter brads for a little more detail.  I really like the way this one turned out.

I was up really late finishing this card and Kit decided it was time for me to pay attention to her.  This is how she gets my attention when I'm so focused on crafting.  Step one...hop onto my desk - step two....lay down on whatever it is I'm working on.  You can see this card underneath her in the picture.  She is just so cute that I can't get upset with her for doing it.  I just reach for the camera and take her picture.

Anyhow that is enough for now.  I really do hope to be able to update my blog more frequently over the next couple of months.  I have found a few new challenge sites that I like and want to take part in them as well.  Have a great evening everyone.

I do hope everyone on the East Coast stays safe during this awful storm.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

It's SKULL-tastic

OK...I'm a bit of a nut for Halloween.  I love, love, love it!!! I have been stockpiling Halloween crafting supplies for the last few months just waiting for a chance to use them.  Up until yesterday I had only made one card.  Last night I got all my supplies together and started thinking up some new designs for this year.  I popped over to the Kraftin' Kimmie blog and this weeks challenge....SKULL-tastic.  The skull doesn't have to be in the stamp, just somewhere on the project.  Although oodles of their stamps have skulls on them. Although funnily enough with about 35+ of their stamps I only have 2 that have skulls on them...I think I may have to remedy that soon LOL.  Well since I used one of those stamps for last weeks challenge I decided to break out my Voodoo Lady stamp....I've been wanting to use her for awhile now and just haven't had the chance...so this was perfect.

I stamped her with black memento ink and colored her with copic markers (E02, 11, 21, 25, 27, 29, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 47 & 50 - W1, 2, 4, 6, & 8 - YG91, 93, 95 & 97).  I added some white gel pen to her tooth belt and some clear star glitter pen to her bead belt and the smoke rising out of the skull.  You can't really see it in the first picture.  Also I added some green perfect pearls to her dress which shows up better in the light.  I embellished a few areas with a green star dust pen and a sepia multi liner.   The skull on the striped paper is from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Halloween stamp set and I used memento espresso truffle ink. The patterned paper is all from the Carte Bella "All Hallow's Eve" 6x6 paper pad.  All the papers are edged in midnight black versa magic chalk ink.  The decorative edge under the skull paper was made using a fiskars edge punch.  The greeting which is normally one long line is stamped with archival black ink. I added a little more detail to the card with some brads a rhinestone.
I can't wait to get back in my studio and make some more Halloween cards!!! Happy Friday everyone and thanks for visiting my blog.

Happy World Card Making Day!!

I can't believe I actually have time to post this today!!! Mind you, it is pretty late.  I even found a few minutes to spend in my studio today.  I didn't have time to finish a project today but hopefully tomorrow.  Here is a card I made last week.

This is a variation of a card I made in the spring.  The dino stamp is from hot off the press and I colored it with copic markers (YR21, 23, 24, 31 & 14, E21, 25 & 29)  I cut the greeting piece and mat out with spellbinders large and small labels.  I used the leaf and star stamps out of the dino set to stamp the design on the greeting piece (memento new sprout & summer sky).  The greeting is from the MFT "Oh Baby" stamp set (Ranger black archival ink).  I used some honeydew baker's twine, a button from my stash and some random brads for embellishments.  The patterned paper is called "dinos all over" by Little Yellow Bicycle, I edged it and the greeting with versa magic mango madness chalk ink.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!!! I know I'm going to enjoy a wonderful Turkey dinner tomorrow.  I hope to be back in a couple of days with another card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge

What a challenge...pick your favorite Kraftin' Kimmie stamp.   Changes all the time,  they are all so fabulous.  Well since my DH bought me a bunch for my birthday I went with the one of my favorite from those.  I am in a bit of a hurry at the moment and will post the rest of the details later but I wanted to make sure I got this up in time for the challenge.
Update added Oct 6th.  OK here are the details for this card.
Stamp - Priscilla by Kraftin' Kimmie
Greeting - Flourishes Tag Lines stamp set
I stamped the image with memento tuxedo black and colored her with copic markers (E00, 01, 02, 25, 27, 29 - R35, 39 - N0, 3, 5 - C1, 3, 6 & W2, 4, 6, 8).  I paper pieced her pants with some red patterned paper (I think a random little piece of paper ended up on her pants in the picture, there is not really a white dot on her pants), I added added a little white gel pen to the skulls on her books.  I edged the image piece with red magic chalk ink and the patterned paper with black chalk ink.  The patterned paper is an old creative imaginations marah johnson paper (double sided - used the back side for the band across the middle).  The black rhinestones are from kaiser kraft.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

More Thanksgiving Cards!

This is going to be a busy weekend for me so I thought I better get this post up today.  It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and I will have lots to do. I know I have to do some baking, I might be able to sneak in my studio while the pies are in the oven.  Did I mention I love this time of year!!!  The temperature is just right, sun shine and crisp air and the colors are beautiful.  You can actually cook nice meals without melting in the kitchen  I always feel very creative and energetic this time of year.  I also want to redecorate and organize everything  LOL!  I will probably start on that after the holiday weekend.  Kit is never happy when I do this (she has her favorite spots and she doesn't like it when I move them).

Anyhow, here are a couple more Thanksgiving cards that I made last week.  The first one is another card I made with the patchwork pumpkins (details in this post).  Again the paper is from the Bo Bunny "apple cider" line.  I stamped some leaves on the edges of the patterned paper and the greeting using a stamp from the inkadinkado Fall Season stamp set and memento rich cocoa ink.  I cut out the greeting and the mat with spellbinders labels two.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks (scattered straw, barn door, tea dye and walnut stain) to ink the greeting square and then stamped the greeting using rich cocoa (memento) ink.  For the greeting I used the "happy" stamp from the flourishes tag line stamp set and the "Thanksgiving" is from an old Anna Griffin stamp set by plaid.  I colored a few pearls with copic markers YR18, Y38 & YG97  for a little bit more detail.
For the second card I decided to use up the some older paper I had left over from the "apple cider" line by Imaginisce (this paper is from 2010). I had some scraps left from another project and cut out some of the trees and a little raccoon and popped them up with foam dots.  I cut out the ovals using the cricut machine and edged the greeting one and the patterned paper with pumpkin spice versa magic chalk ink.  I stamped the greeting with memento potter's clay ink and added a couple of Kaiser craft rhinestones.  I used some sew easy cream soda baker's twine and attach the greeting using some foam dots.
Here is another picture I took while up at Whistler last week.  I can't wait to go again!!!  I think I'll take my other camera and get a couple of video's.

I hope to be able to get another post up before Sunday but just in case I don't, Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!!! Thanks for stopping by!

September!!!

Was a very busy and hectic month and I didn't get to post as often as I wanted. I took a couple of classes and got my copic standard certification  My wonderful hubby took me to Whistler for my birthday and bought me a whole bunch of new crafting goodies (see pic below).  I even got to spend a day or two in my studio crafting.  I just didn't get time to get pics ready and posted on my blog.  I will fix that this month by making sure I post something a couple of times a week.
Birthday Goodies!!!
Here is another card done with the patchwork pumpkins I made a couple of weeks ago.  The paper is all from the Bo Bunny "apple cider" line.  The pumpkin  and greeting are both from the Bo Bunny "apple cider" stamp set.  I cut the rectangle and mat for the greeting out using the cricut.  I inked the greeting piece with antique linen, edged it with versa magic jumbo java and stamped the greeting with memento rich cocoa ink. The ribbon is a random piece from my stash and the rhinestones are from Kaiser craft.

This is a picture I took at the top of Whistler.  It really doesn't do it justice.  It was so beautiful up at the peak of the mountain.  It was like being on top of the world.  I will post more pics over the next few weeks.
Well I must go get some work done.  I will attempt to post a couple of times a week from now to Christmas.  I will be making a lot of cards over the next couple of months.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Patchwork Pumpkins!!!

I got a bunch of Halloween & Fall stuff a few weeks ago.  I really fell in love with the Apple Cider line from Bo Bunny.   Since Thanksgiving is only a couple of weeks away (Oct. 8th here in Canada), I thought I better get started on my Thanksgiving cards.

As soon as I saw the pumpkin stamp from the stamp set I knew what I wanted to do.  I stamped the pumpkin on several different pieces of patterned paper and then a bunch on what card stock.  I then cut them all out and then piece them all together like puzzle pieces to form 6 different patchwork pumpkins.  I then shaded them with some grey copic markers.

For the first card I made with the pumpkins I used a fence and banner I cut out using my cricut machine.  The greeting stamp is also from the Bo Bunny "Apple Cider" stamp set.
Here is a picture of Kit sitting pretty in our craft studio.  She is sitting on top of one of her kitty condos (she has two).  She outgrew this one and we bought her a bigger one. I kept this one and put it in my studio so she had some place to play when she was in there.  She's a little too big for it but she likes to play on it to get my attention LOL!
I will post some pics of the other cards I make with the other pumpkins in a few days.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Paper Piecing

I have been super busy the last couple of weeks and haven't had much time to do any challenges (or update my blog).  I discovered that I might have enough time to take part in this weeks Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge.

Since I decided to use a stamp from the Alice In Wonderland series I decided to check the Altered Alice site and see what the challenge was for this month.  Gardens & Flowers!!! So I decided to use a floral patterned paper for the card and add some prima flowers as embellishments.

Here is the card I came up with for the paper piecing challenge.  I'm not super happy with the colouring but I didn't have time to redo it.  The cup and saucer are paper pieced with the same paper that I used for the background on the card.  It is an old patterned paper called organic laurel by Bo Bunny.  I used the backside of it for the saucer.  The stamp is "the dormouse" by Kraftin' Kimmie and I coloured him with copic marker (E02, 11, 21, 23, 25 - C1 & C3 - YG 21, 23, &25).  The flowers are from prima and I used some coloured brads to put them together.  The greeting is from the dormouse stamp set as well and I stamped it with archival black ink.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone!!!

Make A SCENE!!!

As soon as I saw the challenge for this week over at Kraftin' Kimmies challenge blog I knew I had to play along.  I love building scenes on cards...I even managed to find enough time in my craft room to make one.  I don't have time to post all the details right now ... but I will later tonight or tomorrow.

I used many inks & stamps to build this scene.  The background paper started out white and I used inks and stamps to create the spooky forest.  I wanted a creepy background for Frank (he looks so scared...Kitty looks just annoyed LOL).  Anyhow I love the Franknkitty stamp and I had so much fun creating this card.  Lots and lots of dimension as you can see in the second photo I popped everything up and up again!

Thanks for stopping by.  I will be back later with more details.

One More Class Sample!

Well my week was really busy and I didn't get much time to craft.  I did finish up a little bit of a revamp of my fourth and final card for my new class.  I do have finally get a day off tomorrow and I think I'm going to spend it in my craft room.  I need to get lots of cards made over the next couple of months and I think I better get started now.  I have a tendency to procrastinate....

So here is a picture of the 4th card in my "Tis the Season" class at Scrap Arts.  I do believe the class is the first Thursday in October.  I will confirm the date this week and post it on my class schedule page asap.  Sorry the picture isn't the greatest, I was in a hurry when I took it and now the sample is at Scrap Arts.

This is an easel card done with the Hero Arts "Holiday Cheer" stamp and die set.  For this card we are doing a variety of techniques paper piecing, inking, coloring, paper tearing and also some die cutting. I used some diamond stickles on this card as well but it doesn't show up in the picture.  I believe the greeting stamp is from stampin up.

Well I think I may even try to sneak into my craft room for a couple hours tonight.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Tis the Season!

Well it didn't rain today, but it was much cooler (hooray).  I didn't get a chance to get in my craft room either but I do have another card to post.

This is card #3 in my new "Tis the Season" class at Scrap Arts.  The base and all the layers for this card were cut out with spellbinders petite ovals & petite scalloped ovals.  The stamp is by C.C. designs and she is colored using water color pencils. I also used the "out of the box" technique to cut her out.
Well that's it for tonight, I will probably have another post tomorrow.  Have a great week everyone.

Another Class Sample

Well it seems like we may get a tiny break in from all the hot weather we are having here.  I don't mind though and I even hope we get a little rain. All the gardens could certainly use it!  I also like to spend rainy afternoons in my craft room if possible.  Maybe I'll get that chance tomorrow!

Here is the second card from my new "Tis the Season" class. This one is done using the lacy squares dies from Spellbinders and an old inkadinkado stamp.  The patterned paper is an old one from about 4 or 5 years ago but you could use whatever paper you wanted and color your image to match.
That's it for tonight, I'll be back tomorrow with another sample.  Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting everyone.

New Class Sample!

I finally find some time in my craft room this week and finished my class samples!!! It also took me over an hour to clean up the mess I made in there LOL.  What a disaster area, desk, chairs & floor, everything was covered with supplies. I got it all cleaned up though and have a new class ready to go for October.  I still haven't got the exact dates yet.  I will post them as soon as they are confirmed.

The class is called "'Tis the Season" and there are four different cards done using a variety of techniques, inking, stamping, coloring and lots of die cutting with the Big Shot.  I got the Grand Madison Window die at Scrap Arts a few weeks ago and decided to use it for one of these cards. I used some stampin up stamps for this card as well and lots of glitter (it doesn't show up very well in the picture).

I will post another sample tomorrow night.  Have a great weekend everyone!

PS.  No patterned paper was harmed in the making of this card!

Another Hot Day!!!

Not that I'm complaining or anything but with the weather the way it is, I just can't be stuck in my craft room.   It is simply too hot in there and one should really soak up the vitamin D when one can.  So here are a few pictures I've taken while I was out soaking up the sun.  I do plan on spending the next couple of days in my studio working on class samples.  I will post them just as soon as I can.

Thanks for stopping by!

Kit's Card!

So here is the card Kit made for Pete LOL!  I helped a little, she did all the really hard work of - posing like that is tough.  Anyhow, here is her card and Pete really loved it.

I'll be back in a bit with another post!

Happy Birthday Pete!!

This is the birthday card I made for my DH.  I couldn't post it until after his actual birthday, I didn't want him to see it.  Also Kit made a card for Daddy (with a little help from me LOL).

For this card I started with a map stamp by local king and stamped it with brown memento ink and colored and distressed it with inks & water color pencils.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks (walnut stain, frayed burlap, vintage photo & tumbled glass) as well as water color pencils (turquoise green, raw sienna, chocolate, burnt sienna, bronze and inktense pencils apple green & willow).  The greeting is from the Amy R CC Design stamp set "it's your birthday".  The pirate girl and the other items I stamped on the map are from the "pirates life" stamp set by bombshell stamps.  I stamped the images on the map with walnut stain ink.  I colored the pirate girl with copics (E0000, 000, 00, 01, 21,25, 27, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44 & 47)  also memento markers rich cocoa, rhubarb stalk and a sakura golden star gel pen. I colored some rhinestones with copic marker E27 and added them to the corners for a little more detail.

I will be back tomorrow with a couple more posts.  Thanks for stopping by.

New Glasses!

So I finally got my new glasses this week and can finally see again!  However, they are progressives lenses and getting used to them is taking me a few days.  I really haven't been able to do much crafting yet though.  I think I should be able to get back in there and get some stuff done this week.

I did get another cricut card made this week.  I used the Batman: The Brave and the Bold cartridge to cut out this batman.  I embossed the background paper with the Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder and distressed it with versa magic black chalk ink.  The greeting is from the Amy R C.C. Designs "it's your birthday" stamp set and I stamped it using ranger black archival ink.

Well that's it for tonight, I'll be back with an extra post next week.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Inchies Book!

So along with all the inchies we made in class we also created this cute little book to display them in.  The book will hold up to 36 inchies.  Well I don't have enough to fill it yet but I certainly will have before too long.  Here are a couple of pics.

I used the back side of the patterned paper (which was mostly a distressed white/cream design).  I edged it with wild honey distress ink and stamped some designs on it with the wild honey and rusty hinge ink.  I made the inchie on the front.  The title pieces were provided (lots of different ones to choose from).

This was a great class and I had so much fun.  I think I will take a few more classes as well.  It is so much fun to go and relax and have fun learning some new techniques.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone.  If you are looking for more information on this class or some others pop over to the
Scrap Arts Blog.

Fabulous Inchies!

So I took the "Incredible Inchies & Inchie Holder" class at Scrap Arts yesterday,  so much fun!!!  My friend Naomi & I had a blast making inchies.  We even stayed late and made extras!  While I was at Scrap Arts I just had to buy the Grand Madison window die (hooray!!! I've been wanting this for months).  I also got my stamps from Alpha stamps (the ones I won from the Altered Alice challenge) in the mail today.  I can't wait to use these for the next Altered Alice challenge.

So here are my inchies I made yesterday.  Now some of these have gold foil and glitter pen etc. on them that just doesn't show up in the pictures.  Some of these are made with images that were printed out and others are done with postage stamps, patterned paper, stamps, inks etc. I also added some pearls, rhinestones and glitter pen, gold leaf foil & charms.

I will post the little book that we made to hold the inchies tomorrow night.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday everyone.

Once Upon A Springtime....

I decided to get out the distress inks and a bunch of stamps and create a collage piece.  I'm not sure what exactly I'm going to use it for.  Maybe a card or an album cover but I can't decide.  So until I come up with something more I'm just going to post it as is.

I started out with white card stock and inked it up with a bunch of different distress inks (tumbled glass, broken china, shabby shutters & spun sugar).  I used a variety of stamps and colors to create the background.  I then stamped the fairy and mushroom on white paper and colored them with copics.  I cut them out and glued them to the background.

Updated info - July 26th, 2012

Stamps used to create this image
Script text background - Inkadinkado - broken china distress ink
Flourish scrolls up the side of the card - Basic Grey (flourish corners set) peeled paint distress ink
Tall mushrooms (peeled paint) butterfly (broken china), Once Upon a Springtime (chipped sapphire) and fairy (memento tuxedo black) are all from the Hampton Arts Graphic 45 stamp sets Once upon a springtime 1 & 3.
The mushroom (memento tuxedo black) the fairy is standing on is from the Crafty Secrets Fairyland stamp set.

I colored the mushroom and fairy with copic markers and cut them out and glued them to the background piece. Copic colors - E00, E01, E02 - Y21, Y26 - YG00, YG21 - G000, BG0000 - B000, B01, & B02.
I also used sakura sky star and golden star glitter pens.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
